Context
The first single also had to introduce the artists.
Discoolpe is the duo formed by Bárbara and Lorena, two friends using music to turn their own experiences into something playful and personal.
For their first single, Paredes de Papel, the cover needed to do more than illustrate a song.
It had to put a face to a new project and immediately communicate the personality behind the music.
The idea
Don't just show their faces. Rebuild them.
Instead of using a conventional portrait, I fragmented photographs of both artists and recomposed them into a single collage-like face.
Different expressions, gestures and moments coexist inside the same image, turning the portrait into something messier, louder and more representative of their personality.

Visual Language
Grunge, pop and a little bit of night.
The artwork combines raw photographic cut-outs with vivid color, playful styling and distressed typography.
Sunglasses became part of the composition because they were already a recognizable element of the duo's own image.
The title was treated as if the surface of a paper wall had been scratched away, connecting the typography directly with the name of the song.

FROM PERSONALITY TO COVER
Designing an image that sounds like them.
The final direction avoided presenting Discoolpe as a polished or distant music project.
Its imperfections, overlapping images and expressive typography became part of the communication itself.
The objective was for someone discovering the duo for the first time to understand that this was urban, playful and made to be enjoyed rather than taken too seriously.

Results
A cover that also worked as an introduction.
The result became the visual introduction to Discoolpe's first single and helped establish a first impression around their urban, playful and expressive musical personality.
Rather than creating a separate visual universe around the artists, the artwork used elements that already belonged to the way they presented themselves.
DOES YOUR MUSIC HAVE A PERSONALITY BEFORE IT HAS AN IMAGE?
Let's turn it into something people can recognize before they press play.
